Scrapbook Embossing - For Elegance!

Scrapbook embossing is a technique that creates a raised image on your scrapbook pages that you can not only see but also feel. It is a great way to add texture and dimension to any page. You can add embossing in numerous different colors for the lettering on the page, a frame around a photo or even special designs along a border for instance. All you need to do is to be creative and use your imagination.

As a technique, scrapbook embossing should be practiced repeatedly before actually putting the image into your scrapbook. You do not want to learn a new skill while attempting to create a beautiful scrapbook--one mistake and your hours of hard work can be destroyed. Also, you need to make sure that when embossing, you do not attempt to emboss over photos--the heat used in the process can damage or even destroy your treasured pictures.

Scrapbook embossing requires you purchase paper and rubber stamps, an embossing ink pad, embossing powders, some form of heat source, scrap paper to collect excess powder and a fine tipped paint brush.

Finding Your Inspiration - Creative Scrapbook Ideas

Historically, scrapbooking has been a tradition similar to storytelling, but with a visual and tactile, rather than oral, focus. Scrapbooking is also a method for preserving a legacy or history in the form of photographs, printed media, and memorabillia contained in decorated albums, or scrapbooks. The tremendous growth of the Internet has resulted in more creative scrapbook approaches as well as online scrapbooks. The digital photography revolutions has been accompanied by an explosion in creative scrapbook ideas.

Every scrapbooker has one of those days now and again when it's impossible to create a decent page. As hard as you try, you can't get the pictures to look good on the page. Another situation is finding yourself in a rut. If every page starts looking then same, its time to take a break and get over your scrapbooker's block-find some new inspiration.

Inspiration is all around in the world. Turn on the television to check out your favorite celebrity's latest fashion, and this may lead to a new color scheme for one of your pages. Read a magazine and you may see a cute way of placing photographs and text on the page together. Billboards, advertisements, movie posters, and simply the scenes of your neighborhood can all become sources of inspiration if you look at the world with a scrapbooking eye.

Scrapbooking Captures Life's Moments for Lasting Memories

Life's pace moves so rapidly. One moment your precious bundle-of-joy delights at the discovery of his or her toes, then in a flash theyre taking their first tentative steps, learning to talk, and using the big potty. Then your baby is ready for that first day of kindergarten. As you blink back tears and the world comes into focus again, you're holding onto the dashboard for dear life as your son (who is a foot taller than you now) demonstrates that he needs a few more driving lessons before getting his driver's license! All too soon, it will be time for graduation and wedding gowns. Then before you know it, your babies are ready to have babies of their own. A photograph can freeze a moment in time for a lasting memory. Scrapbooking can keep those frozen memories alive, those precious life moments you want to always remember.
